Burbank Cooperative Playschool

Est. 1992

Job Posting: Teacher/Director March 2021

Our Children’s Place is seeking a Teacher/Director who LOVES TO PLAY!

The ideal candidate will provide opportunities for our children to learn and grow together, prioritizing social-emotional development and good citizenship through our part-time parent participatory program.

About Our Children’s Place:

Our Children’s Place, (OCP) is a parent participation cooperative nursery school located in Burbank, California. In this special environment, parents work along with the Teacher/Director to provide a warm and supportive first school experience for our children and their families. We give children the opportunity to learn through play, as we nurture each child’s individuality, development, and growth. Our school offers a true play-based program for children age 2 years and 9 months old through age 5.  Our Children’s Place operates at a City of Burbank owned facility at Pacific Park.

Before the COVID-19 2020 crisis we offered member families a 2-day and 3-day program Monday - Friday  9:00 am to 12:00 pm with a maximum daily class size of 13, with a teacher and three parents working alongside one another. OCP’s yearly calendar closely followed Burbank Unified School District’s calendar. We offered a pre-Kindergarten program for eligible play-schoolers Tuesday and Thursday 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm. At this time our school is closed, with plans to re-open as soon as safely possible and potentially continue into the summer.
